Overview
We are delighted to announce the organization of the 4th World Junior Chess Championship for People with Disabiltiies. Under the auspices of the World Chess Federation (FIDE), and US Chess.
This championship will be held in the United States in 2022 with dates to be announced.
The FIDE World Junior Chess Championship for the Disabled is an event only for chess players with disabilities who are under 20 years old as of January 1, 2022. Each relevant chess association (IBCA, IPCA, ICCD) regulates the conditions of their participation.
The FIDE World Junior Chess Championship for the Disabled is held as an individual open tournament.
A team may represent a National Federation. All the players of a team must be members of the same federation. National Federations must have at least two players to make a team, although no maximum number of players. The top three scores of team members will count as the team score for championship purposes.

Entry Fee $100 USD
No on-site registration.

Is this event open to all countries?
Yes, the 4th FIDE World Junior Chess Championship for the Disabled is open to players with disabilities from all countries.
Do you help arrange travel and accomodations?
All players are responsible for making their reservation and travel arrangements. If you require assistance, please contact us via email to: info@worldjuniorchess.org or info@chesseducators.com.
How is this event different from other tournaments?
This event is open to players with disabilities that are 20 years and younger. It is designed with special consideration to the challenges that many chess players with disabilities face.
What is the birthday cut-off?
Players under 20 years old by January 1, 2022.
Is this a rated event?
Yes, this is a FIDE rated event.
Can you provide a letter of invitation so that I may apply for a travel VISA?
Yes, we will provide a letter of invitation to each player as well as their coach or assistant that will aide in their travel and participation. Letters of invitation are sent to your National Federation. These letters must be requested in advance, please do not wait until the last minute, allow 5-7 business days for processing.
